Somehow life was never a bed of roses,.......... & it has not changed much,
rather it has gone from bad to worse. A girl child was un- wanted then and was treated like a burden in the past few decades........ the world has progressed too fast from the 19th to 21st century, Only now female infants are brutally murdered, by Cannibals (so called fathers?) by torturing them to death.
I remember..... as a child my dad always told me because you are a girl you have to learn to tolerate, compromise and work hard. Whenever my brother and I had fights, I got the maximum beatings just because I was a girl, it didn't matter if he was wrong & I was right, even if he made mistakes I was beaten only because I was around & I was a girl.
I wondered then, why????? just because I'm a girl, I'm punished for no fault of mine, I was humiliated, hurt, pushed around like a unwanted thing.
I couldn't answer then, but today if anybody were to ask me, I would have replied ' I asked god for a family that would love me for being me (a girl)', but he made a mistake and I paid for it, living each day of my life to be reminded that I was unwanted just because I was a girl.
Living in India, its nothing new, as a grownup I now understand that having a girl was and is a stigma for most families. But people forget, its the girl who takes your generation ahead by giving birth to another child, she is the one who nurtures the family with love and warmth, gives everything she can just to make life beautiful and in return all she wants is few words of appreciation, little understanding & caring. Is it too much to ask??
If there were no girl child, would the world exist?........!! NO
Who would care for you?
Who would cook & do the household chores for you?
Who would you love?
Who would carry the generation ahead?
Then why is it that a female child is hated so much, why is she looked down upon, tortured, hurt, humiliated and unwanted?
I saw the news yesterday.......... a 3 month old girl child was burned on cheeks with cigarette butts and the child's mouth choked so as not to shriek. What kind of a race does the so called father belong to..... human race? I doubt.
They said on TV it was 7th case of a reported abuse, what about the unreported ones.......
Even animals don't hurt their pups in any way, then are humans below those animals who hurt their infants just because they are females?
Like the dinosaurs the species 'disguised as human - killing female infants' should be extinct, they are the ones who don't deserve to live on this planet.
For now the abuse continues, only the relations change.......... sometimes as a father / a brother or worse... in the form of a husband. WHY?
